Unfortunately child sexual exploitation is something we are hearing about more and more in the news. As parents and carers we often think we know what is happening with our children, what they are doing and who their friends are - but sometimes that is not the case.
Sexual exploitation is secretive. The abusers are manipulative and young people often don’t realise what is happening to them until it’s too late, or even think that what is happening is wrong.
We’re holding an information evening for parents and carers of secondary school children, and community leaders in the Chesham area to find out what sexual exploitation is, how to spot the signs, and how to report it and stop it. We will also touch on top websites and apps young people are using and how you can keep up to date with this! The evening will be led by agencies across Buckinghamshire who are working together to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation including the County Council, District Council, Thames Valley Police and Barnardos R U Safe?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place.
If you can’t make the event and want to find out more about child sexual exploitation you can visit www.ruwise2it.co.uk.
Be wise, know the signs and stop child sexual exploitation from happening to a young person you know. We look forward to seeing you. Yours sincerely,
Chair of the BSCB’s Child Sexual Exploitation Sub Group
